What Challenges Are There to Cloud Computing?
-Security and privacy concerns
-Cloud is outside corporate firewalls, meaning programmers and hackers could more easily break into the servers, and the entire database being on the internet
-Loss of IT control because of basic cloud infrastructure. This requires added layers of security
-The cloud might not be compatible with a cloud using their current IT infrastructure, requiring replacement
-This could be resolved through hybrid clouds
-If a company has multiple servers, and one has an issue and cannot be accessed, then the information could be lost. This is even worse if the server is in foreign countries
-Compulsory orders for disclosure can deeply hurt businesses and companies who only want to store information
-Ambiguous roles for cloud service providers, necessary increase in effective data protection, laws about international data transfers, and lack of universal data protection legislation are all issues
-Malware or hackers could invade a cloud service and gain access to high amounts of data important to small businesses, especially with higher concentrations of data
-A lot of trust is put into the vendor supplying the service, of which the vendor is given basically complete control over the data, and can take advantage of it
